Daughter of Late Shamsul Karim Khan and Late Babi Khan, did her schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya Khanapara, Guwahati, Assam. She stood first in her Higher Secondary Examination from the same school in her stream. She then did her graduation from Cotton College, Guwahati in 1995 with major in Economics. Thereafter she obtained her LL.B degree from BRM Law College, Guwahati in the year 2000.
She then immediately enrolled herself as an advocate of the Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim in the same year. She started her practice under the guidance of Mr. D. K. Mishra, Senior Advocate, Gauhati High Court. While practicing, she completed her masters in law and obtained her LL.M degree from the Gauhati University in the year 2002. She mainly practiced in Writ matters, constitutional matters, service matters, labour matters, contempt matters, matters related to 6th Schedule of the Constitution of India, Land acquisition matters etc..
She was thereafter appointed as an Additional Public Prosecutor, Gauhati High Court for the State of Assam in the year 2013 and worked in the said capacity till 2025 i.e. until her elevation to the Hon’ble Bench of the Gauhati High Court. She was also appointed as a Mediator, Gauhati High Court and had mediated in many matrimonial matters as well as money suits. She was then appointed as Additional Judge of Gauhati High Court at Guwahati on 28th of May, 2025, the day on which she took her oath
